The head of Kaukauna’s fire department is applauding the people who helped neighbors during fires over the past week.
Chief Jacob Carrel says it’s also important not to put yourself in danger. He wants people to call 911 if they see fires, and do whatever they can to help. He hopes they can knock on windows to let anyone inside know about a fire, but he doesn’t want them going into burning buildings.
A husband and wife are getting credit for putting out a garage fire last week, and making sure the eight people inside of the home got out.
Last night, a neighbor ran to a house after seeing a garage on fire.
Both of the homes are on Sullivan Avenue on the city’s south side.
