After 36 years, the core gallery on the second floor of the Neville Public Museum in Green Bay is getting a facelift.
Over the past two months, staffers have been moving over 2,000 artifacts into temporary storage.
Executive Director Beth Lemke says besides lighting and other upgrades, they’re going to reorganize things. She says the artifacts will be sorted by theme. She says the Green Bay school district made that suggestion.
She says popular exhibits like the Mastodon and the Ice Harvesting video are staying.
The project is scheduled to be completed by June of next year. In the meantime, Lemke says the rest of the museum will still be open.
