Some Republican lawmakers are proposing a constitutional amendment to prevent the governor from using partial vetoes to increase spending.
Sen. Dave Craig of Big Bend and Rep. Mike Kuglitsch of New Berlin want to make the change, after Governor Evers added more money for public schools.
The proposal comes after Majority Republicans limited the powers of Evers and Attorney General Josh Kaul before they took office.
A spokeswoman for Evers is calling the proposal a “temper tantrum.”
