It was a good first half of the year for the Appleton International Airport.
Spokesman Patrick Tracey says they had nearly 194-thousand passengers through the end of June. He says the number of passengers is up 16 percent during the first six months of the year. That’s on top of last year’s 28 percent increase.
Tracey credits a busy Spring Break season and Allegiant Air’s move to offer more flights. He says United’s non-stop flight to Denver is also making a difference. The airline added that destination a year ago and Tracey says the planes are about 90 percent full.
