A Democratic state lawmaker from Appleton says she wants to go to Washington D.C. to help people struggling to improve their lives.
Rep. Amanda Stuck is running for Congress in the eighth district next year. She’s going to take on Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher of Green Bay.
Stuck says health care is one of her top priorities, especially protecting the coverage of pre-existing conditions. She says the cost of medication is continuing to be an issue for people. She believes that people aren’t getting the medication they need, because they can’t afford it, and that’s not right.
Stuck says some people are having a tough time getting ahead, even if they work hard and get an education. She says student loans are holding them back from buying a house, and they’re working multiple jobs to make ends meet.
Gallagher is in his second term in Congress.
