A local group of people living with Parkinson’s Disease are trying boxing to improve their condition.
Four couples from Touchmark in Fox Crossing visited the Oshkosh YMCA to take a class.
Coach Kate Harrell says patients see progress in day-to-day activities. She says more intense exercises help people push off the affects of the disease.
Touchmark workers say Parkinson’s also affects the friends and family of those with the disease. They think it’s important for patients to have a support group and keep doing fun activities like the boxing class.
