A political science professor thinks an Appleton Democrat faces an uphill battle in a race of Congress.
Representative Amanda Stuck announced she’s taking on Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher of Green Bay in the eighth district.
Lawrence University Professor Arnold Shober says Gallagher had a strong showing in 2018. He thinks it’ll be a challenging race. But he says there is a presidential race in 2020 as well, and, depending on the Democratic candidate, that could help Stuck.
Stuck is serving her third two-year term in the Assembly. Gallagher was elected to his second term in 2018. He defeated Democrat Beau Liegois 64 to 36 percent.
