The City of Appleton might use money from TIF districts to pay its share of the budget for an economic development group.
Communities help fund the Fox Cities Regional Partnership.
Mayor Tim Hanna wants to take the $30,000 from six TIF districts. He says the group plays an important role by talking with local companies, and trying to bring young talent to the area. He says the city doesn’t have the resources to do that work.
Hanna says the city can use TIF money for economic development efforts, and the partnership’s work definitely falls under that.
