Some Winnebago County board members are going to investigate longtime Coroner Barry Busby.
The judiciary and public safety committee is taking that action in the wake of reports that Busby has been spending a lot of time out-of-state.
There are also accusations of sexual harassment that a state coroners and medical examiners group is looking into.
Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris believes Busby is damaging the reputations of other county leaders.
Because Busby is an elected official, he can only be removed through a recall election, or by Governor Evers.
