Little Chute officials aren’t happy about taking over outdoor weather sirens from Outagamie County, but they’re going to do it.
Village Administrator James Fenlon believes it’s a matter of safety. Kaukauna, Kimberly and Combined Locks are among the communities that haven’t said what they plan to do.
Fenlon says it’s something the county should oversee.
Town leaders in Grand Chute, Dale and Center say they don’t want to take over the sirens. Hortonville and Shiocton would take ownership, if necessary.
The county’s emergency management director says they’re waiting to hear what the other communities will decide.
