Green Bay police are seeing a lot of cases of people leaving animals in hot cars.
Humane Officer Mallory Meves says the state does have a Good Samaritan law that lets people break windows if an animal seems to be in danger. But Meves says there have been cases of someone breaking windows when the animal is fine. She says people should look for signs like heavy panting, bright red gums, or loss of bodily functions.
Police recommend calling 911 and checking for an owner before taking action.
