Many EAA attendees looking to sleep in Camp Scholler at Airventure got a rude awakening over the weekend.
Heavy rain left the site too wet for RV’s and large campers—so those were turned away at the gate. By Sunday afternoon, that resulted in lines miles-long along Poberezny Road—and plenty of frustrated campers.
The EAA set up overflow camping site in the parking lot of Aviation Plaza along Koeller street and on the far north end of Oshkosh at the Sunnyview Expo Center. People staying there can get to Airventure via shuttle buses.
