The City of Oshkosh will have to decide how to move forward in the wake of last week’s defeat of a proposed transportation fee.
The money would’ve been used to cover most of the costs of street reconstruction projects.
City Manager Mark Rohloff thinks there’s still support for getting rid of special assessments. He says the council sill have to come up with another idea on how to do that.
With city staffers now working on next year’s budget Rohloff believes special assessments will stay in place for the rest of the year. He says that’s unless the common council gives them a different direction.
Council members voted down the fee five-to-four.
