Grand Chute police say they arrested a 56-year-old man for trying to rob a Walmart by the Fox River Mall last month.
Daniel Fox of Appleton is in the Outagamie County jail.
Police believe he walked up to the customer service counter and handed a clerk a note. They say Fox was demanding money, and he claimed he had a gun. They say he never pulled out a gun, and he left the store before officers got there.
Police say Fox painted his face and arms black.
