A push to make people think twice before they get behind the wheel, after drinking, starts today across Wisconsin.
The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign runs through Labor Day.
Outagamie County Sheriff’s Lt. Ryan Carpenter says they’re using grant money to put extra patrols on the road. She says deputies will be pulling people over for a variety of reasons, including not wearing a seatbelt, speeding, and reckless driving.
Nearly 160 people were killed in alcohol-related crashes last year. Almost 3,300 were hurt.
