Groups that are trying to preserve bees, butterflies, and other pollinators will get some help from an anonymous donor.
The $500,000 gift is going into the new Wisconsin Pollinator Protection Fund.
Caitlin Williamson of the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin says they’re looking at different options to provide more habitat. She says agricultural land is a possibility, and the DOT might have public property that could be used.
Williamson believes the donation will support a number of groups around the state.
The foundation is asking for more donations for the initiative.
