The first Chick-fil-A in northeast Wisconsin is opening this morning and people started waiting last evening.
The restaurant is off I-41 at the College Avenue exit in Grand Chute.
Eric Krebs is the owner of the location and he thinks there’s been a lot of anticipation. He says it’s fun to see the excitement in the community.
People camped out last night and the first 100 in line can get free food once a week for a year. Krebs hired about 140 workers and he says it was easier than he expected considering the job market.
The Chick-fil-A is opening about a week after Popeye’s did down the street. The two franchises have generated a lot of talk nationally after Popeye’s introduced its new chicken sandwich.
