The big turnouts for the opening of two restaurants in Grand Chute didn’t cause traffic headaches along College Avenue.
Police Officer Travis Waas says the impact on other drivers was minimal, and similar to what they’ve seen in the past when a new business opens.
There have been long lines at Chick-fil-A and Popeye’s, after the franchises opened their first locations in the Fox Valley.
Waas says the police department did help a little on Chick-fil-A’s first day. He says two community service officers were making sure there weren’t big backups at the intersection of College Avenue and Kools Street.
At Popeye’s, the restaurant has had workers in the parking lot, directing traffic at times.
