Over the weekend, President Donald Trump announced he cancelled peace talks with Taliban leaders at Camp David. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo did the round of Sunday shows to explain the move and what comes next. Noticeably absent from the scene: National Security Advisor John Bolton.
So it was perhaps not a surprise when, just a few days later, Trump tweeted that Bolton’s “services are no longer needed in the White House.” The departure drew criticism from left and right, as well as overseas. But Josh explains the real damage here is to democratic oversight and there’s no telling what comes next.
