The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley is looking to expand its Menasha location.
The city council is agreeing to rezone two lots on Racine Street that are next to the club.
CEO Greg Lemke-Rochon says they hope to build a two-story, 15,000 square-foot addition. He says they’ve reached capacity at different times, and the needs in the community continue to grow.
The club would like to start work on the project in the next year.
The Menasha location opened in June of 2015, and Lemke-Rochon says it filled up really quickly.
He says while they won’t take all of the credit, Menasha police are reporting the number of police calls involving young people are down almost half, since they opened.
