
Ten masons from around the state took part in a competition today in Fox Crossing.
Miron Construction hosted the second annual Bricklayer 500, outside of a warehouse on Racine Road.
The company’s Todd Higgins says it’s a showcase for professionals. He says they have an hour to build a wall, and they’re judged on the height and quality.
Higgins says the winner will go to Las Vegas for a national competition.
He says students from seven or eight local high schools competed in a junior event. Higgins says the idea is to show young people what a career in masonry is about.
