The clock is ticking before a major regional youth sports facility will be ready in the Fox Cities.
Construction on the Community First Champion Center in Grand Chute started a little over a year ago.
Spokesman Jason Habeck says they hope to open in mid-November, and it looks like the first events will be in early December.
He says they’re exceeding their first-year goals for the number of bookings.
The facility will have a hard-court arena, an ice arena, and a third one that can be converted between the two.
The project is expected to cost more than $30 million. Revenue from the hotel room tax will pay for it.
The center will be west of I-41, near the corner of Greenville Drive and McCarthy Road.
