The federal Department of Justice is giving a grant to UW-Oshkosh to focus on sexual and domestic violence.
It’s for $300,000, over three years.
Assistant Vice Chancellor Art Munin says they’re going to work with a Milwaukee-based group to train people on how to help survivors with their trauma. Eventually, they want to train faculty, staff, and students at all three UWO campuses..
Munin says they’re also going to build on their existing prevention efforts. Another initiative will focus on training bartenders and servers on how to intervene in situations.
