People will get a chance to check out a housing development just for veterans on this Veteran’s Day.
Veterans Village is in Grand Chute on Glenpark Avenue, near Fox Technical College.
Fox Valley Veterans Council President Jim Strong says they have about 10 people staying in apartments, and they’re in the process of remodeling nearly 50 of them. He says they’re looking for veterans to apply to live there.
Strong says for the second phase, they’re going to build 26 senior apartments. They’re also planning a 10-bed project for end-of-life care.
The council is holding an open house from noon to 3:30 p.m. today. It’s going to start after Outagamie County’s annual Veterans Day ceremony is over. That gets underway at 11 a.m.
