There are some security upgrades at the downtown transit center in Appleton, after a firefighter was killed there six months ago.
Valley Transit General Manager Ron McDonald says they added a security guard and improved the camera system.
Firefighter Mitch Lundgaard was shot and killed while he was on a medical call.
McDonald doesn’t believe the changes would have prevented Lundgaard from being shot. But he thinks it will give them better information in the future.
Valley Transit bus drivers were also offered counseling in the wake of the shooting. They weren’t directly involved in the incident.
