People have less than 10 months to make sure they have a Real ID, if they’re going to get on an airplane.
The more secure card will be needed to board any flight in the U.S., starting in October of next year.
The DOT says only 38 percent of driver’s licenses and ID cards in the state are a Real ID.
Kristina Boardman of the DMV says people should go online to find out what paperwork they need. She says they can also get an application online, and fill it out, to save time at the DMV.
Mark Lendvey of the TSA in Wisconsin says they don’t want people to wait until the 11th hour.
