There won’t be a decision on a sculpture in Appleton, at least until next month.
Some neighbors don’t like the artwork on the west end of the College Avenue Bridge. It’s called “The Collective” and it’s a large head, made up of small faces.
Ald. Chris Croatt wants to hear from more neighbors. He says he doesn’t have an issue with the sculpture or the location. But he thinks it might be different for people driving by and enjoying it, compared to someone looking out a window of their home and seeing it.
Sculpture Valley is planning to keep it there for two years.
The municipal services committee heard from supporters and opponents of the artwork, and the location, Monday afternoon. Members could make a decision on January 13th.
