Appleton leaders are talking about a sculpture that’s on the west end of the College Avenue Bridge.
The Collective looks like a large head with smaller, individual heads.
Public Works Director Paula Vandehey says most of the neighbors either don’t like the artwork, or they’re upset they didn’t know it was going to be placed there. She says they’re going to change the city’s policy, to make sure neighbors are notified about artwork, before it would be set up.
The artwork is part of a project by Sculpture Valley to temporarily place pieces around the Fox Cities. It’s been in place for several weeks.
The city’s municipal services committee will talk about the location at 4:30 p.m. today. If members want to move it, Vandehey says they’ll have to look for a new spot.
