Saturday will mark 50 years since a former Appleton police officer was killed.
Two of Frank Frye’s granddaughters are still waiting for answers.
Frye worked at some local hotels as the clerk and night watchman. They included the former Embassy Motor Lodge, near the intersection of the old Highway 41 and Highway BB.
Lori Dollevoet is hoping someone will come forward with information. She says none of the theories seemed to fit together, so there have always been questions.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department is handling the cold case. Investigators haven’t had any luck while testing evidence for DNA.
