The suspect in an Appleton murder will have to undergo a competency exam.
Bradley Boettcher is charged with killing his mother, Lee Ann Dorn, at her apartment on the city’s south side. She was found dead in February.
Prosecutors say friends told investigators Boettcher has had mental health problems.
Since he was charged, he’s twice refused to leave jail for a court hearing. He was in Winnebago County court Monday, through a video feed.
Boettcher was arrested for driving drunk in Kentucky, the day after Dorn’s body was found. They say he was in the car his mother drove.
