A former Little Chute High School teacher will spend five more years in prison for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Marinette County.
A jury found Jason LaVigne guilty of third-degree sexual assault. Prosecutors say they were boating in June of 2018, and he assaulted the girl after giving her several vodka lemonades.
LaVigne is already serving a five-year prison sentence for repeatedly sexually assaulting a former student in 1999. The new sentence is being added onto that one.
She was a 14-year-old freshman at the time. Prosecutors say LaVigne rubbed up against her, and asked her to have sexual contact with him.
Outagamie County investigators say the former student came forward in 2009, and talked with a school counselor. They say the school didn’t report the accusations to police after an investigation, but there was documentation in LaVigne’s personnel file.
