Enrollment at UW-Oshkosh is expected to drop throughout this decade.
Chancellor Andrew Leavitt says they’re projecting slight declines through 2026. After that, they believe there will be a sharp drop. Leavitt says that’s because 18 or 19 years earlier, the population curve flattened during the Great Recession.
Enrollment slipped by 3.4 percent this year. That was worse than the projected 2.6 percent decline.
Leavitt says high school graduates have a lot of options right now, including getting a job right away and going to a two-year school.
