The state’s voucher program is expanding to more private schools in the Fox Valley.
Five of them are joining, including Holy Spirit School on Highway KK in Buchanan.
Administrator Mike Zuleger says they want to give more children a chance to get a Catholic education. He says the Green Bay Diocese presented the pros and cons, and parish leaders agreed unanimously to offer vouchers.
There will be 286 private schools in the statewide program during the next school year. That’s a 10 percent increase from last year.
The other new local ones are Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran in Harrison, St. John Sacred Heart in Sherwood, Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran in Greenville, and St. Edward in Mackville.
