Unusual increases in harassment, through social media and over the phone, are getting the attention of Fox Crossing police.
Officer Dan Wiechman says they received about seven complaints in a week, and that’s a lot for them. He says some victims were getting calls from scammers or people looking for information. Some were trying to blackmail victims.
Wiechman says people were being harassed on Facebook by old friends, or people they didn’t even know. He recommends Facebook users change their privacy settings.
