A $500,000 donation to the YMCA of the Fox Cities will help some kids learn how to swim.
Financial Development Director Jan Davey says they’re setting up scholarships for swimming classes for low-income students in Neenah and Menasha. They’ll be available for kids in Pre-K and elementary school.
Davey says the scholarships will build on their program that teaches kids basic survival skills in the water. She says the goal is to reduce the number of child drownings.
