Appleton leaders want to give a group some more time to find a different place for a controversial sculpture.
The city’s municipal services committee is holding off on a decision to let Sculpture Valley continue to talk with a private landowner. “The Collective” has been on the west end of the College Avenue Bridge since last fall.
Ald. Chris Croatt agreed to wait until the committee’s next meeting on March 9th. But he says they have to take action, if Sculpture Valley doesn’t work something out by then.
Ald. Brad Firkus also doesn’t think the city can continue to drag things out beyond the next meeting.
City Attorney Jim Walsh also made it clear that the city believes Sculpture Valley would have to pay to move “The Collective.”
