There’s a constitutional amendment on next Tuesday’s ballot dealing with the rights of crime victims.
Teri Jendusa-Nicolai survived a brutal attack by her husband in southeast Wisconsin, 16 years ago. She’s a supporter of what’s called Marsy’s Law.
Jendusa-Nicolai says they would make victims’ rights stronger, so they would be on the same level as a defendant’s.
There are some opponents that argue that the rights of crime victims are already guaranteed, and the changes could slow the legal system.
State lawmakers overwhelmingly approved the amendment last year.
