The state has received nearly 480,000 applications for unemployment since March 15th, and paid more than $290 million in benefits.
The Department of Workforce Development reports by the end of last week people had filed almost 1.2 million weekly claims. Nearly 750,000 of those weekly claims have been paid. The agency says that’s how many they’d typically process over about eight months.
