Brown County is opening a drive-up testing site for coronavirus at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon.
Claire Paprocki of the public health department says it will only be for workers in certain areas, like long-term care facilities and plants. She says people will need to be sent there with a doctor’s note to get tested.
The Wisconsin National Guard and state Department of Health Services are working with the county on the testing site.
Paprocki says they’re opening it in hopes they can avoid new outbreaks like the ones at three meat plants.
There are now 594 cases connected to those plants. Two-hundred-ninety workers at JBS in Green Bay tested positive, and another 58 are linked to them. American Foods Group in Green Bay has 179 cases among workers and 32 connected to them. Salm Partners is reporting 35 workers have the virus.
