The Appleton parks and recreation department isn’t participating in “No Mow May.”
The agency received some negative comments on its Facebook page because crews recently cut the grass at Erb Park.
Parks Director Dean Gazza says their goal is to make parks usable for everyone. He says because of the dry spring, they haven’t done much mowing, but they have mulched leaves.
The city council is letting people grow their grass longer in May, without worrying about a fine.
