A study by UW-Oshkosh economists found there are links between in-person voting in Wisconsin last month, and the spread of coronavirus.
Professor Bryan Engelhardt says they looked at the case numbers, two to three weeks after the April 7th election. He says when communities had more people voting at the same place, the odds of catching COVID-19 rose.
Engelhardt says testing wasn’t widespread in early April, so some people likely caught it, and were never tested.
They’re recommending clerks expand the number of polling locations for upcoming elections, and encourage people to vote absentee.
