Two men accused of killing children allegedly tried to escape from the Outagamie County Jail.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Demetrius Williams hid in a common area in the jail Sunday night and threatened to attack corrections officers with an improvised weapon.
Williams reportedly demanded that Matthew Beyer also be released. He was eventually subdued and returned to a cell.
Prosecutors are charging both Williams and Beyer with attempted escape and kidnapping.
Williams is accused of killing a three-year-old Appleton girl and stabbing her pregnant mother. Beyer is accused of killing two of his children in their Kaukauna home.
