Police officers and Sheriff’s deputies will be watching closely to make sure people are wearing their seatbelts.
The annual “Click It or Ticket” campaign starts today, and runs through July 5th.
Lt. Justin Englund of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department says surveys show about 90 percent of drivers wear their seatbelts. He says the chances of dying or getting seriously hurt in a crash are much higher, if you’re not buckled up.
