There are plans for a housing development in downtown Neenah.
Mayor Dean Kaufert believes there’s a need, and demand, for people wanting to live downtown. He says the city’s been working for a long time to try to get a developer to bring more housing to the downtown.
Construction on the four-story, 71-unit building would start in October. He says it would be at Main Street and Millview Drive, and overlook Arrowhead Park and Little Lake Butte des Morts.
The project is expected to cost about $12.7 million. T. Wall Enterprises will receive up to $3.9 million in TIF payments.
The building is expected to open in February of 2022.
