Governor Evers is calling on people to help stop the surge in coronavirus cases in Wisconsin.
He says people have sacrificed too much over the past several months to give up now. The governor says 46 percent of the state’s total confirmed cases have come over the past month.
Evers is is urging everyone to wear masks, and he says staying home is still the safest option.
He says young people especially need to step up, because of the increases in cases among 20- to 29-year-olds.
Department of Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm says 20 percent of new cases last month told contact tracers they were at a mass gathering. She says while people can take steps to protect themselves, they’re not entirely safe.
