Some Brown County leaders will start considering proposals for a mandatory mask rule next week.
Supervisor Patrick Evans is on the human services committee, and he believes the issue has become political. He’s been getting calls from people on both sides. He supports having people wear masks, but he doesn’t want to mandate it.
Supervisor Tom Sieber says they haven’t decided on the scope of the proposal. He thinks it could cover anything from county building, to a county-wide requirement in public buildings.
The committee will talk about the issue, and the full board would have to approve any requirement. It could take a month for anything to be in place.
