Governor Evers says he’d issue a statewide mask order without hesitation, if not for the state Supreme Court’s ruling in May.
Justices threw out the “safer at home” order, ruling Majority Republicans in the Legislature have a say in statewide rules. He’s continuing to urge people to wear masks, and he says it’s a step people can take right away.
Evers is also thanking small businesses and large retailers that put their own mask requirements in place.
