A report shows before the pandemic, nearly one-quarter of households in the Fox Valley were struggling to afford basic needs.
The United Way Fox Cities helped determine how many are in that situation, while earning more than the federal poverty limit.
The group’s Tony Gonzalez says in Outagamie County, 24 percent were in that position. The figure was 23 percent in Winnebago, and 22 percent in Calumet.
The United Way of Wisconsin releases the study every two years, and the latest figures are from 2018.
