The Appleton school district’s leader says wearing a mask now will have an impact on their ability to reopen schools in the fall.
Superintendent Judy Baseman says they want to return to in-person classes, and the community can help by preventing the spread of coronavirus.
She says they teach children at a young age about the importance of being safe, kind, and responsible. She believes wearing a mask fulfills all three of those virtues.
Baseman supports a proclamation from Appleton Mayor Jake Woodford, urging people to have a face covering when they’re in public, and aren’t able to follow social distancing guidelines.
