Video of a major party involving boaters on Lake Butte des Morts over the weekend is going viral on social media. The annual Sand Bar Bash is drawing widespread criticism as more than a thousand attendees are in close proximity to each other and no one is wearing a facemask. The Winnebago County Health Department has issued a statement asking Sand Bar Bash attendees to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 and to limit their contact with others for the next two weeks. All social media accounts tied to Sand Bar Bash have been taken down today.
